NEWS UPDATE

ED: Once again my apologies as regards the scanty reporting. It has not been easy to get information on the event. As you probably know, the chess event has ended and Nigeria came away with 3 Gold and a Bronze. The last official report is from Round 8 and so we hope that when the team returns we can get a blow by blow account of the happenings at Algeria.

Here is what happened in Round 8 and the final standings.

AAG : Round 8.

Sad to say that Nigeria drew 2-2 with Ethiopia in Round 8 and it was the two people that u would not have wished to be on the Receiving end of the drubbing that got it! Both Kolade Onabogun and Bunmi Olape lost. For those who are not aware, they were the only 2 Nigerians With a 100% as it is now they were both on 3/4 as at the end of round 8.it Was not bad news all the way however as i was told by Fola that Tobi Still Has a perfect score and both Lola and Pauline where looking good for Gold Medals as well. (ED: All three won Gold medals)
