CH: Now that you know the lineup for the event and have seen the schedule, what should we expect from you in this event?
AS: I intend to give my best, and not lose rating points.
CH: How do you rate your chances of winning the event?
AS: Winning the event is attainable. I’m just going to do my bit, and see how things turn out.
CH: Apart from you, who do you think is the favorite to win the event?
AS: If the Fide Elo is anything to go by, the other titled players in the field are big favorites. One can’t also rule out the immense talent of the others.
CH: Why should the public follow this event?
AS: The tournament is a novel idea that needs to be encouraged. Moreso, its a gathering of some of the finest players in Nigeria, and so promises to be an interesting tournament.
CH: If you were not participating in this event, why would you follow it?
AS: Same reasons as the previous question.
CH: What do you think is the public’s perception of your chess?
AS: Hmmm… I can’t really say. Perhaps I’ll let the public say what they think.
CH: What do you plan to show in this event for the public?
AS: Look forward to playing interesting chess, and possibly some novel ideas.
CH: Can you describe what you like to do on the chess board?
AS: I like to play accurately, play positional chess, and to attack.
CH: What is your future ambition in chess?
AS: My immediate ambition in chess is to attain an IM title, and improve on my rating.
CH: What would you like to say to the world as your final words?
AS: All I have to say is that folks out there should watch out for good chess.
